‘WE ARE MARSHALL’: CNN Predicts Blockbuster Status for Film

Huntington, WV (HNN) — Award and Holiday movie buzz has gone up a notch, and the “We Are Marshall” production has started its moves.
First, CNN has added the Thundering Herd picture to its list of “blockbusters” for the holidays. It joins “Casino Royale,” “Deja vu,” “The Nativity Story,” and “Charlotte’s Web.” Writer Todd Leopold did not give too much about the reason behind his predictions, but he wrote that “based on the true story of the rebuilding of Marshall University’s football program after a plane crash, sounds like a crowd-pleaser.”

And, the McG directed movie starring Matthew McConaughey and Matthew Fox has gotten some Oscar buzz too. Some Tinsel Town scribes have Fox receiving an acting nomination for his portrayal of assistant MU coach , Red Dawson. In fact, the ‘gossip’ suggests that he may be killed off in “Lost” to pursue a big screen career.

While the competition will be fierce, “WAM” has something else going for it publicity wise: Current word is that Oprah will do an hour on the film with McConaughey among the guests. As most women know, an endorsement from the TV talk show queen practically guarantees success.
