Matthew Fox Net » 2008 » FebruaryEven though Speed Racer doesn’t come out until May, star Matthew Fox is already looking forward to the next installment. At a junket in New York today for his upcoming film Vantage Point, Fox confirmed that when he originally signed up for the film, potential sequels were part of the deal. “I didn’t think twice about it,” he said about agreeing to take part in sequels. “I would love to do more of that world and work with everyone in involved in that project. I’m very excited by the prospect of that. But it’s going to be one at a time, obviously.” Given that Fox doesn’t talk as explicitly about Speed Racer sequels as his Vantage Point co-star Dennis Quaid talks about future G.I. Joe movies, it seems the studio will wait to see if Speed Racer is a hit before going forward with follow-ups. But this is your chance, Speed Racer fans! Make the movie a hit, and you’ll be guarantee to see Matthew Fox suit up once again as Racer X. Fox also said that he’s seen parts of the film, and not only is he excited, but his kid is too. “It’s going to be amazing. I can’t wait. My little boy asks me every single day when the movie’s coming out.” He also admitted that the movie’s heavily CGI shoot was a challenge as an actor. “It was like doing it for the first time in a lot of respects. The whole process that they’re doing is very different. The way that the images are layered in, the way things are even shot. Most of the time you’d end up doing a scene and the actors would be removed and you’d end up doing it by yourself.” Comments: 0

Matthew Fox lets his roles in Vantage Point and Lost speak for themselves Matthew Fox is in denial. It’s not that he refuses to face up to facts, he just can’t reveal stuff. Certainly, Fox has to stay quiet over the developing plot points of the hit series Lost. And now he’s being sly concerning information on the Wachowski brothers sci-fifilm Speed Racer, which is set for a spring opening. In fact, he can’t say much about his role in the political thriller Vantage Point, either. The movie, opening on Friday, has Fox and Dennis Quaid portraying secret service agents who are protecting the president of the United States at an international function. After the president is assassinated, the incident is retold from eight different points of view, revealing much more than was initially evident. Fox hopes the film does well at the box office because he thinks the thriller is entertaining and comes with a clear cautionary message. “It’s unbelievable to me–and this is at the core of the film–how many people walk around in this world thinking their version of reality is the only one that’s right,” the actor says.
